    cheap test?

New to hammocks but so far I have a problem with "cold from beneath" being uncomfortable.
Not sure which solution I want to pursue, but I was thinking of trying an experiment with gear I already own.
I have 2 hammocks, a less expensive Grand Trunk and an ENO ProNest. Thinking of hanging the larger Grand Trunk, safety pinning an old sleeping bag in it for insulation, then hanging the ENO inside that.

    Will it work????????

Caution. Safety pins may rip holes in your lower hammock.

Try this: Tie up the sleeping bag corners with cord loops, put in a section of something stretchy (shock cord, stretchy head bands you get at Dollar General, inner tubing) to connect the two loops on each end, and connect this to the ends of your hammock suspension right at the hammock end. Snug it up loosely under your hammock which you have weighted with some blankets to simulate your approximate shape and some weight.

Except for the safety pins this is going to be my first "Underquilt". I hadn't thought through how to keep the sleeping bag in place but I don't think safety pins are the way to go. Yet I don't have an alternative for you.

I have provided zero value to this discussion.

Binder Clips. I have been using these to keep material together for "experiments" as well as sewing. They are cheap, reusable, and easy on hammock material. Size large should be about right clip a sleeping bag to a hammock.

Here's another inexpensive, easy and somewhat popular alternative...

    Thanks for the ideas!

I edited my first post to change cheap Grand Trunk hammock to less expensive Grand Trunk hammock. Didn't mean to offend anyone or indicate the quality of the Grand Trunk was poor, it just cost me a lot less than the ENO hammock, so the word cheap came to mind.
