HH Explorer asym zip - jungle views

Some pics of my latest trip in Ecuador, upper selva (right where the Andes meet the Amazon basin). Been spending only a few nights in the hammock, very resistant event to some violent pours, only had problems with some bitethrough of some nasty longneedled insects (not mosquitos). Otherwise, quite happy with it, will soon be testing it in some more cold climates in Europe.

Didn't find a specific photo-album related section on the forum, hope it's ok here.

PS: Unedited pics (no time to play), just thrown there. Enjoy!

Some really great shots you have there! Is this a vacation or a working trip for you?

I see you're rocking the stock rainfly to - how's it holding up in the heavy rain (you mentioned resistant)?

Just vacation, and regret having left the hammock in the jungle until I got to recover it along with some other luggage, and not taking it to the beaches, there were some amazing places i really wished I had it with me.

The stock rainfly held up really good, I think that most important is that it should be properly aligned and well stretched, and I imagine you don't have to put too much effort when you have a hex tarp. The hammock was actually hanged for almost a month, although I dind't spent more than 10 nights in it. There were some 4,5 all-night-long heavy rains during this month and the usual daily showers, never got a drop inside, and regulalrly checked it, so lets say that it worked well...

Great pics! I see you tie the tarp to the trees, and sometimes fairly high above the hammock even before you get in and the hammock sags, plus some very wide pitches. Still, dry through jungle rain with the stock tarp! Impressive. Always looks like folks would get soaked from side ways rain, but your good results speak for themselves!
