Ewker, some folks find it more comfortable to have a pillow under their knees for support. Its a personal thing. Same as a pillow under the head. Some like it, some don't.

On my back, I find I get pressure points where my feet contact the hammock if I don't offer a little support under the knees. I've tradionally been a side sleeper at home, and while I sleep on my back for a longer period of time in a hammock, its nice to have that same pillow to put between my knees when I turn on my side.

I use a large Thermarest pillow under my knees and a small stuff sack stuffed with a down vest for my head.

I use a small "Babies Crib" pillow under my knees when sleeping on my back and between my knees when sleeping on my side. You can get them anywhere they sell infant supplies. Wallmart, K-Mart ect. There cheap and easy to carry. I also use one for my head. But 2 inflatable pillows are on my wish list...

Most folk pick these up along with another item or two so they ship free as a tag along.... And yes Trail Days is a great place to avoid the S&H... just watch out for VA's sales tax... $0.09 on a pillow

I use my dry bag filled with clothes for under the knees and an inflatable travel pillow for the head.

..and no, I don't usually sleep on a bunch of water jugs. Making a new bug net and needed to make it sag......

Since getting my Warbonnet my mode of sleep has completely changed. I never slept on my back before... ever, but can now sleep solidly for more than 8 hours straight now. I found that placing either the stuff sack with my clothes or a FlexAir pillow under my knees keeps my legs from being slightly hyper extended. With that extra little bit of comfort I don't have to move at all during the night.
