I have not had ANY problems locating excellent places to hang on the FT. Pine trees are messy (sap), but they work. I haven't done too much of the FT south of route 60, but north of it I've probably got around 300 miles in and have never had an issue finding a place to hang.

I'm sure the spelling is horrible here, but Permethirn (?) works great! I soaked my hammocks in it and have yet to be peppered with mosquito bites on my back. You have to retreat about every 3 months, but it's pretty cheap and very effective.

FYI, I have had trouble locating a lot of information about the south part of the FT. It seems that most people focus on the Ocala portion and north? I will hopefully hit big cypress in Feb., Lake O from now until Nov. I don't know!.?!

Like I said, south can be very wet (perfect for a hanger) but trees CAN be more than 20 feet apart thus making it difficult to find an ideal location, especially where there is potable water.

The chocholate chip pattern is the six color used around the Desert Storm era, Around that time they went to the tri color that was used through the beginning of Operation Iraqi Freedom. They are now using the Marine Corps digital pattern known as the MARPAT desert digi's and they have the green or woodland Digi's for the other types of terrain.

Love it It looks great on the hammock. I'm jealous.
