    Hammock Calculator

Here's my own version of HF member dejoha's very nice "Hammock Camping à la carte" utility.

Dream Hammock offers several models in several fabrics in several sizes.......
    http://www.dream-hammock.com/Hammocks.html

This tool will provide info on the final hammock weight, price & comfort rating of each and every model, size and fabric combination.

    Enjoy.

Super nice, PapaSmurf! Now that you've raised the bar, I need to update my tool

This is an excellent tool, especially for a range of products that have such customization options. Three thumbs up.

That is AWESOME. Every time I go to the site, I have weight questions in my mind. Now, that's all easily answered!

Wow. Awesome tool Papa! Wrong time of year. You're making really difficult to convince myself that Christmas time isn't the time to buy myself stuff. ...maybe my girlfriend wants a new hammock (with my name on it).

I don't see a Darien UL on the list. Is there a reason for that? The calculator estimates a 10' x 60" 1.0 single layer Darien with whoopies coming in at 16.15oz. I thought the UL in the same size was a few ounces lighter.

That's correct. Nothing to alter and no options available on the Darien UL that affect weight, so this info is simply listed on the Darien UL web page.

The regular Darien built in the same 1.0oz fabric would be basically the same body without the lighter weight components.
    - Noseeum Netting
    - Amsteel whoopies
    - 1.1oz ripstop Stuff sack
    - Noseeum Ridgeline Organizer
    - No Dutchware goodies

Note - The calculator uses some creative math so I will likely need to go back and tweak the weights slightly to keep them as close as possible. It's possible that the final hammock may vary slightly from these weights. The differences will be most noticible in the heavier hammocks that are 11ft because of longer ridgelines, longer zippers, more netting, etc.
