Dorm room hanging!

I hang from wall studs every night.

I do use alot of sag though to lessen the forces involved.

I'm not sure sturdy is the issue. Any dorm bunkbeds I have seen are not attached to the wall. Plus when I was in college, before the second iceage mind you, we would have been summarily dismssed for putting holes in the walls. We couldn't even tape things to the walls. They had to be hung from a pictire rail near the ceiling.

At 230+ lbs I hung from wall studs for about 6 months and never had a problem either. I built a stand only because it 'looked' better.

I gave serious thought to hanging my hammock under my bunk... but wasn't sure if it would work. The bed was wobbly enough, and I thought my hammock was too long.

In retrospect, I should have just hung it up, spread out my pad underneath and given it a try!

Not quite a full sized load but it can work. The bigest problem I would see for a grown person to hang this way would be the shortness of it.

Now you made me want to move back on campus. Curse my landlord and furnished apartments. Next year I swear to the hammock gods that my new house will have no bed. An ENO doublenest will be my sleeping quarters of choice.

Me too! 2 of every 3 nights at home, and every 3rd night at work,,, if I get to sleep.

yeah that's me in the picture...and it is a bit short! I slept in it last night and laid diagnally...i think it helps that it is a 2 person travel hammock, i can lay alot flatter!

as far as it being stable, the bunks are wobbly but i tied it in the diagonal corners and it works extremely well!
