    It doesnt have to be a loop. Mine are open ended on the ridge line and I just tie the tarp to the prusik with a simple bow knot. Easy on/easy off no hardware. I have been doing it this way for years w/out fail.

    Theres also some phone apps for knots, useful for my first hang this weekend when I had to switch suspensions with my son's hammock.
