I am a fan of having a dedicated pillow. I find it more comfortable then cloths in a stuff sack and def like it better over an inflatable pillow. The comfort it brings me in my hammock is worth every ounce. I've been using the snoring bear by Arrow Head for years now and love it. The only problem is, it weights 14 oz. So being the ounce weenie I am I recently ordered a 7D 900 fill down pillow from hammockgear.com. It should only weigh a handful of ounces and be super soft. I am really looking forward to the day it arrives on my door step.
Sometimes I like to hike and think, And sometimes I just like to hike.

Hiking is'ent about waiting for the storm to pass its about learning to hike in the rain.

Still loving my fleece pillow case with a few clothing items in it, I think it is a cascade designs. One of the many reasons I may never sleep on the ground again,...in the hammock I hardly need much of a pillow, and I am finicky about pillows at home.

I just use my backpack, why carry more gear than you need to. Make use of what you have.

I use the NEMO FILLO. Fleece top, memory foam inside with a small air core providing adjustable thickness.. Packs small and is as comfortable as my home pillow.

Stuff sack, sure, but backpack as a pillow? Just can't imagine being comfortable with that. Of course hang your own hang.

    I have a therm-a-rest compressible. I couldn't love it more

I would be interested to try a nemo product, but i'm way too happy with my current
When it seems like the night will last forever
And there's nothing left to do but count the years
When the strings of my heart start to sever
And stones fall from my eyes instead of tears
I will walk alone by the black muddy river
And dream me a dream of my own

Pillow never even occurs to me when I'm hanging on the trail. If I do feel the need, I go with the stuff sack pillow.

Now backyard hanging, I loves me some pillow, and I also run some coax cable and an extension cord out to the hammock so I can watch TV under the tarp!

I think if the pack was turned inside out and only soft items left in it. But I normally don't have much left in my pack and it would make a really big pillow.

Oh I pray my wife doesn't read this message. I will be dragging an extension cord and a power converter into the woods.

The backpackinglight inflatable pillow (you filled it with a straw) is pretty decent if you fill it about 25% and use a little fleece as a pillowcase. -- also weighs about .9 ounces
