Routing and finishing off shockcord

So I've just made a weather shield for my underquilts but now I'm not sure which is the best way to use my shockcord. Should I just run it down one channel, loop out of the end, back down the other channel and then finish with a knot at the other end ?

That would certainly work if you have a partial length underquilt that you wish to protect. If your quilt is full length, then just having loops in the corners for attachment points also works.

With the loops, do you mean to just take them directly to the UQ rather than to my buckles or gathered ends on my BB ?
It's a good point, I have all these loops along my Snugfit which I could use instead of going the shockcord route.

Shock cord is HEAVY!!
If you are backpacking, you want to minimize the use of it.

I just have mine on the ends. My weathershield can come up higher than my hammock and block the wind. Works for me goodly that way.

Yep. You can do loops on each of the corners and maybe one or two on each side that you can attach to your UQ or hammock rigging to minimize weight and bulk.

I think you will need some way to gather the ends to help it seal better on the ends.
I like the SC along the sides that should really help the top edges snug up along the hammock.

I would not worry about the ounce or two of extra weight after all this is your winter kit and in
winter fit and function over rules weight.

What you drew might work, but a prefer more control over how much itcan slide back and forth on the shockcord. Also agree that the ends might benefit from cinching
