Now that I watched it again...How do you do that greenscreen thing? And the crows camio appearence is priceless. You don't need gear, you should be putting up vids like a weekly hammock series.

HEY thanks Dutch and a big old thanks for coming up with these little gems ... I love them ... takes the fiddle factor out of the suspension like the straps and buckles did ... but now without the bulk and weight.

Greenscreen ... well I'm kinda doing the redneck version with my cheap'o software ... made a greenscreen wall out of fabric, clamp lights and film the scene with me in it against that. Lighting is the tricky part but not too hard. Filmed the crow separately. Then it's just a matter of removing the chroma key for that color and layering the shots. Little work on the timing ... two good background shots ... some cave audio files and ya got some Hawk-eye foolishness!

Hmm hat ... well ... yeah ... but that's a genuine Dutch hat ... Stormy the crow had it on Ebay before the video was processed!

great video Hawk-eye and I learned a new trick! That "quick release" way of getting your Amsteel loop off the biner is a keeper.

The early "foolishness" reminds of Geraldo Rivera's "Mystery of Al Capone's Vault". Maybe it's just because Dutch is sorta a Pennsylvania Dutch version of the mob, I dunno.

Wow yet another great video. Two thumps up on the intro! Thanks for all the good information. I especially like the tip on removing the line from the biner. That is pretty darn slick. You can bet I will be adding that one to my repertoire.

    Great video.

A quibble: I can use nacrabiners with gloves or mittens very easily - have done so and will do so in the future. Haven't used the Dutch Biner, but I have used regular biners and mini biners with gloves or mittens and the nacrabiner is no harder with gloves or mittens. With really big and bulky mittens (especially leather ones with wool inside or an inside layer of gloves), the Dutch Biner, a nacrabiner, a mini biner or a regular biner is going to be hard to use.

I will admit that using the scarab lock is easier than the splice lock with gloves or mittens.

On the splice locks I've made, I'm not convinced that I could open with gloves or mittens. There's a need to pinch and pull a narrow bit of cord.

but a sliding knot like the scarab (me, I'm partial to whipping knots, 'cause I know them, same effect as best I can tell) you grab and slide. Which takes a lot less manual dexterity.

So I'm violently agreeing with you,..., I think, ....
