Nice tarp, I made one using the DIY winter tarp plans out of some plastic painters tarps and it is a great size. Where did you get that type of tyvek at?

I saw that kite making Tyvek yesterday and wondered if it was the same stuff.

Like the plain white better than having Tyvek company branding labeled all over the tarp.

I looked this material up and read the specs and it says that it is water resistant, not water proof. Have you tested it for dryness? Please keep us posted

40 grams per sq. meter = 1.17974099 oz. per sq. yard

    That's a nice weight, huh?

The description on Amazon says that it is waterproof??

Tough Dupont(R)Tyvek(R). A waterproof plastic paper made of spun-bonded olefin fibers, Tyvek is a popular choice for kite workshops. Our Type 1443R Tyvek even feels like cloth. 60" wide. 40 grams/sq. meter.

Haven't done any extensive testing other than in the sink. From what I did, I believe it'll keep me dry.

Very lite. Doesn't compress as much as silnylon though.
