Up for sale is an as-new JLT custom woodsman knife. for those of you who dont know, JLT is a custom knifemaker in England, you can see some of his work at http://www.jltknives.co.uk/Index.htm

I bought it new from Adam this past summer , and really never used it too much. I really dont want to sell it, but I am running low on cash this holiday season, so off it goes! This thing feels REALLY good in the hand. And carves like nobodys business!






Steel - 01 high carbon tool steel
Grind - Scandi
Blade - 95mm
overall - 210mm
grind height 9.5mm
Blade thickness - 4mm

Asking $125, shipped CONUS. Comes with a very basic leather sheath.

Just a plug here, but I have two of Adam's knives and they are top shelf. If I had the cash I would jump on this, but wanted to pass on my opinion. Great knives.

I have his Bushcraft knife and really like it. I also have a smaller knife he made me and it has the same scandi grind. They came scary sharp and are easy to keep that way with a leather strop.

it seems like all the Mears style bushcraft knives I find on the internet are made in the UK. And they almost all have the Scandi grind, except for JLT's convex bushcrafter. I've recently ordered some sharpening tools and am looking forward to learning more about edges and how to maintain them.

Turley also makes a bushcrafter with what he calls a convex Scandi grind called the Niangua River Woodlore knife.

The scandi is by far the easiest to maintain in the woods. Convex isnt too bad, but you have to pay more attention when sharpening to get consistent results.
