    easy diy down uq?

    i have some down and was wanting to make a easy down uq that will last me till i get HG? any DIY guides/pics

    That link to Dutch's sewn UQ seems like a lot of work, even when compared to sewing noseeum baffles...

    Another .02

    Dutch design results in a differential construction...outer shell bigger than inner shell. It can then be suspended tightly on the hammock without compressing the down. In the day when differential cut models were not available hanging your underquilt was more difficult...getting just the right balance. If you were inclined to do so you could convert the Dutch technique into a separate baffle/shell design.

    While "easy" is a relative term any down quilt is a complex project at best. It is a lot of work in its simplest form. That's not to say "don't do it" but you might want to revise your expectations as to how easy it will be.
