If you are doing what I think you are doing, i..e., running a line tree to tree and then hanging the hammock off Prussics on the line, then yes it has been done.
If I remember correctly only one person has been successful in doing so.
TeeDee did this a few years back and he tried Prussics and a whole bunch of friction knots. Every one he could find in Ashley and on the internet. None would hold. The main problem is that Prussics don't really hold much weight/force unless the Prussic rope diameter is 1/2 diameter of the main rope. From his results, this probably holds for all friction knots. So, if you are going to use 1/8" (3 mm) diameter rope for the main rope, then the Prussics must use 1.5 mm diameter rope. The closest to that diameter is the smallest diameter Lash-It rope. We use that for the structural ridge line, but I sure wouldn't hang from it.
The only person I can remember actually getting this to work was using something like 6 mm climbing rope and then 3 mm rope for the Prussics. Not exactly a backpacking setup. 6mm rope is heavy and way more strength than you will ever need for a hammock suspension.
But if somebody can ever get this idea to work with some of the ropes used commonly for suspensions by members on the forums, then it will really be an easy way to adjust the hammock position on the suspension.
