I know, I had the Cloudburst, original version with sewn-in floor. I took it to Algonquin Park in Ontario on a fall trip because we were a 4some and I only had one hammock at that time. My paddling partner was blown away by the size and weight.
By the way, my 2 hennessys were the 1st pieces of gear I replaced after our house fire.

Hey nothing wrong with tents. I see one in my future. I need one for when I want to sleep above the tree line. There are also going to be trips in my future where there are no trees.
Is that too much to ask? Girls with frikkin' lasers on their heads?

No: my nomad makes an excellent pillow too!

Tho, come to think of it, that is one use cause it's so small, it would SUCK to use it to down fill anything inside of.

I did not think that I would be arguing for tents here. That's a little strange.

But if that is the way it is going to be, I am going to take my ball and go home.

Hey I have kids I take on canoe trips that would probably freak if we weren't in a tent together. That's why the need for an extremely light tent. Otherwise it's the hammock for me.

Why don't you put them in a hammock beside you?

The one is young enough that the "physical" barrier is still a pschological problem. (He's only 7 but he considers himself my paddling and hiking partner) I have his hammock for him when he's ready, a HH Exped Asym with the upgraded sil hex fly, same as mine. Right now we are using the Walrus Trekker Tarp. I have the insert for bug season if needed but it's a pretty heavy setup compared to the Cloudburst or Rainshadow.
