Question about the Stretch Side with a WB Traveler

Could you do this with a hammock like a WB traveler? Would this be the best way to make a foot and head box into a traveler? Just wondering. I don't really understand the design exactly but it looks like you could tailor any gathered end hammock to do this.

I think so but haven't seen a Traveler up close to know for sure.

In this thread I showed how to mod an existing hammock into a stretch-side, which is what you'd do to the Traveler.

If I haven't said this before, great idea Knotty. Simple yet affective.

I just made one of these hammocks and it's really great. The flap on the foot end always bothered me and this is such an easy add on.

    Thanks a bunch!

It is a reasonably easy solution to a problem, which can be applied when making new or modifying existing hammocks. I wish I could go back and edit my original DIY Gathered End Hammock instructions adding a link to the Stretch-Side info.

I think one of the mods probably would seeing how there is a direct link between the two.

I made a gathered end following your other link and applied these feature to it and I have to say its super nice not losing your quilt our feet at night. I also added mitten hooks to one end and cord locks to the head end giving me the ability to adjust from the head and either side of me.

I have some fabric that I just got to try one of these. Any thoughts on using 4 pieces of shock cord, both sides foot and head end? Then it wouldn't matter which way you layed, you could adjust it. You would have a weight penalty, but if it didn't work, then I could remove 2 of the shock cords and lose the weight.

Anyone try this? I usually lay one way, but would like the option to lay the other.

Can you flip the hammock to lay the other way?

Didn't think about that, thanks. But if I am set up and laying one way and decide to switch, I would have to get up and move the TQ. With the two sets of shock cords, all I would have to do is adjust the cords.
