DIY Hammock stand

Ok so I want to make a free standing hammock stand like I have seen some of you guys use. Like the one on PapSmurfs site, sort of like that.

I have determined that the one tree I can actually use, is in the wrong location in my yard to just put another pole in the ground 15 feet away. So I need to make my own that I can move around.

I will be using it to test gear and yes sleep in and take naps in on a very regular basis so it needs to hold up well.

Do any of you have the dimensions, or do I just make a stand to where there is a 15ft span at about 6ft up in the air.

I will be using my WBBB 1.0 DL as the primary hammock.

What suspension you using?

I use a combination tree straps and whoopie slings.

But maybe with this set up I will just use the whoopies with a biner.

Gonna get some dutch buckles here next week, and eliminate my marlin spike out of the equation, and drop the dutch clips and just use the sewn through loops that are on the webbing.

Check out Roadrunner72's new DIY stand. If I was doing an outdoor stand This one looks good.

Mugs, I posted my DIY stand a few months ago and included some measurements and basic instructions. It has held up well and might provide you a decent starting point.
