Yeah, that might work. How would you attach the foot end? You'd have to have a secondary suspension for the UQ.

Well, I'm convinced that is likely the best setup going. I hope Warbonnet can bring this thing to market. Congrats on your aquisition Cannibal, I think you'll be well equipped for your thru hike.

I think I would go nutso being blind on one side all the time, when there was no tarp on. That quilt really looks nice, I like the way you can open it to vent heat quickly.

Thanks for all the nice comments guys, I really do like this set-up. The wall of nylon 'blinding' one side isn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be. It actually is kind of nice when dealing with wind; you can use it to block the wind or to catch it depending on what your needs are.

What is this "sil liner" you mention? Where is the liner, and is it Sil nylon? Overall, this looks really great. Although it's hard to imagine there is nothing under the legs and your ok. BUt apparently so.

We can not buy either this hammock or UQ, right? Also, would this UQ work ok on other hammocks?

Here's some data. At this station the low was 17, at least after midnight. If it had been much colder those bare hands of yours would be blue in the morning!

What has impressed me most about the Warbonnet "system" is that is exactly what it appears to be, a hammock and underquilt designed to be light and functional in anything short of sub zero conditions.

The sil liner is basically a pillowcase that goes over the UQ. It is open at the bottom and has two small holes at the head end that the shockcord is threaded thru. Kind of a pain to put on, but once it's on you can push it up out of the way if you don't want to use it. I'll get better pics tomorrow of them as separate pieces.

WBG is still selling them via PMs, I think. Yes, I used this on my Trek Light Double and it worked fine. Not quite as snug of a fit because of the extra material on the double, but it worked fine.

Weird, this one showed 10F and my thermometer recorded the 13F reading. It shows as the 22nd now, but it was morning data yesterday (I'm up way too late tonight). I don't put a lot of faith in that thermometer because it's super cheap so it could be way off. The hands came out of the gloves sometime after sun-up. I was actually pretty warm when I heard pops walking around in the snow.
