    Kits from Thru-Hiker & AYCE

I've had the sewing fever as of late and just wanted to give a "thumbs up" to AYCE at Thru-Hiker. His kits are fun to sew and that Momentum 90 material is silky soft......
Made my 16 year old daughter a quilt from AYCE's kit and she loves it. So does our cat. She will have it on the road with her on Circus Smirkus this summer. Gets chilly in the Vermont area even in summer. Here is a pic:Quilt.bmp

OK then, for myself I made the Kinsman Pullover. Made with Momentum 90 and Primloft insulation. Really warm for sleeping in a hammock and packs down small. A bit tricky to sew but that made it fun. Here is a view:

It is rewarding to sit in my sewing area:

and turn out some stuff to have fun with while hammock camping. Doing nothing but doing something!
Sew on and so & so.......

Wow. You even put here name on her quilt. Impressive.

    Is the quilt down?

    Hi
Some good looking gear there, have you been sewing long?
Just how hard was that pullover?
    Thanks

Shug I don't remember a kit from thru-hiker for a flat quilt. Is that the $150 with momentum and 800 down? That seams like decent deal and I like the momentum feel, It kind of feels like clean money. Also does that kit come with instructions other than what is on the website with the dude in a tent?

Oh and really nice stuff, I like the extra touches.
    Peace Dutch

The pullover was just a bit of work....not too difficult if you have done some sewing. AYCE has a terrific forum on Thru-Hiker to get answers to questions along the way on the project. Next one I will add pockets.
Do ya' one! It is really warm and slick.

Yeah, they have the quilt at the bottom of their kits listed. You are correct on the price and momentum and 800 down. Also, the instructions are with the dude in the tent, I just modified it for a flat quilt as that is what my daughter wanted. Made the project much easier!!!
    Thanks,
