Unhappy whoopie slings do not hold???

got a question for the whoopie sling makers of the world, how much bury is needed to hold a 300lbs monster?? i ask this cause everytime i sat in my hammock i ended up on the ground with a wet a__. i seem to be seeing my whoopies slip or slide. is there a break in period or something do you need a back up knots
i do not remember the question, however i believe beer is the answer

How much bury do you have? I have 10 in of bury and had no slippage at all but im only 200 lbs. I saw a sling holding up 300+ lbs with less than 10 in of bury. You could mark your slings with a sharpie and then hang. Check the marks on the WS to see if it did actually slip or if it may be something else stretching. What are your slings made of?

It should not be a weight issue Kayaknut, I have had over 400 pounds on a set with me, wife and all 3 kids in the hammock at once.

Yeah sounds like you might have the pull thru line tied to the hammock instead of the outer part. I just did that ... Didn't tie it too a tree and see but I don't think that would hold if tied backwards.

another thing always to check is that you've "milked" the bury, stroke it out to eliminate any bunching.

A whoopie made per Samson Rope's instructions should break at the bury exit before it slips.

Are you using some sort of SLS (single line suspension) variant and not a whoopie?
