Read "Certain's" trail Journal from three or four years ago. She was "Michelle" here when she decided to through hike. She became "Certain" during her hike.
Every single night in a hammock. Got to do demos for Hennessy. they may still be up.

    It's a good read.

Sometimes I like to hike and think, And sometimes I just like to hike.

Hiking is'ent about waiting for the storm to pass its about learning to hike in the rain.

I have plenty of gear lists including my own but there aren't many hammockers out there with one as light as his. I left Springer with 24 lbs including three days of food and some water. I believe he said he was at about nineteen. I did see he was using a Nano without a bug netting. I'd like to know what he was using underneath. I used a Dangerbird and a full length down UQ from Hammock Gear. BTW....thanks for the offer.

Thanks! I'm impressed...15 lbs with four days of food. The few things jumped out immediately. His pack was just over one pound...I have an Osprey Atmos 65. I would have froze to death with the clothes he brought....didn't see any underwear or even an extra pair of shorts/Tshirts....I brought two pair plus an extra pair of socks and a down sweater. His UQ was 3/4 mine wae full length. I didn't se any water filtering/purification system.....I used a Sawyer Squeeze with drops as backup. He used a Nano....I used a Dangerbird....would have frozen my butt off with out it. I'm not sure if his weight included water....my 24 lbs did.

In any event 15 lbs is pretty amazing. I plan on watching his entire video series. I love his layed back carefree attitude....I could hike with him anytime.

I am prepping for an AT hike with 4 of my friends, all of us hammocking. With 3 days food, I am shooting for about 18-19 lbs. My baseweight without food/water/fuel is fairly firm at 13lbs 1.5 oz. This includes my Blackbird, 3S Incubator and HG Cuben tarp. I am set down to about 30°, which equals the record low for the time period we are going.

Looking forward to great hanging and hiking with friends. We leave in 2.5 weeks.

I laughed out loud when he said he was 15 pounds with four days of food. Once I was a few weeks into my thru-hike my food bag alone often weighed more than that when I left town. It was shocking how much food I could put away and still lose weight!

Like these videos a lot and just goes to show you dont need a bunch of stuff if you are just walking.

I have some questions for him, but dont know his member name here.
    Did not find Loner.
Maybe some of you guys could answer if you know.

Water, how did he treat it. I think I heard him say water tablets or drops in one of his drop boxes.

No bug net, no head net etc that I saw.
How did he deal with bugs. Only thing I can think is repellant.

How did he upload his videos to the internet. Cant figure that one out totally unless he used computers at the hotels he stayed at or did he have a smart phone etc ?? There is one part where he is at a hotel and talking about uploading to YT.

What camera and How did he charge his camera. He is moving along and making some miles and using a lot of camera time.
Seems like he would need a lot of charge time.

Did he carry a smart phone cell phone etc ??

    Clothing seems skimpy.
Only insulated warm thing I saw was a montbell vest.

Good points! I usually take these weight claims with a huge grain of salt. Just sayin'
