Trying this gizzmo for tying off...

Your solution looks like a fine one for those who still use the stock HH spectra. How heavy is that cleat?

Personally, I don't have a problem keeping the webbing lined up through the rings, even though I do take 3 seconds to tie a simple overhand slipknot with the loose end (just for insurance). YMMV. I don't like having to keep up with tree hugger seperately either.

That looks interesting but it looks like one end has to be tied to the clamp and the other end goes through the clamp. You'd have to untie it each time you wanted to run your rope through your tree huggers.

It's so much quicker to just toss the webbing with biner around the tree, clip biner back to webbing, pull tight through rings and add slippery half hitch to webbing at rings.

Not to mention the stretch factor with spectra. I enjoy not having to retighten after hanging for a while.

I like that cleat idea a lot - quick and simple - do you know how much each weighs? and what size line it is rated for? Or do they come in different sizes?
