Duke, that looks awesome. Amazing how doggone straight the ridgeline looks on that. Might have to get me some of them there Tarp keys if I decide not to do the CRL. Thanks for the visuals, that is exactly what I was shooting for!

@Dukedante: cool ^2 from another Tyvek fan.

any updates on your tarp? I went by HD yesterday and looked at tyvek. That stuff sure makes alot of noise. I am still considering a tyvek tarp, especially for the scouts due to cost. I sure hope we can get the noise down though.
Lack of preparation on your part does not constitue an emergency on mine.
Not sure who said it ...but I like it
Cut the tarp to a straight 9 x 9, then from the ridge line ends, measured up both corners each side 5'3". Cut a line straight from each mark, ended with a hex tarp shape, almost exact 5'3" all six sides. This one is gonna have some reach.
Tomorrow gonna pick up some Tyvek Tape, need to figure best way to tape up some guyline pullouts, tried the pebble thing with larkshead, did well but want a tighter pull. Once I work out one, I will decide if I need to do cat cuts or not.
Anyone have any luck with pullouts made from the tape?

Have you thought about something like this:

Have you tested that shoe dye to see if it will bleed when it rains?

Aardvaark, I'm thinking the same thing about the tape. I have some coming to test, but I plan to use 1" tape running through D-Rings. I'll stick a bit of tape underneath where the tape goes through the D-Ring so the adhesive doesn't stick to the D-Ring itself. Might also put a cross piece of tape each side to strengthen and distribute the attachment load to the tarp.
Be interested to see what you come up with...
Any Sketchup gurus here?
I'm wondering how to get a flat view of the tarp material from this model I made for my tyvek tarp, or do I have to redraw it in plan view for that?
