I hope I didn't miss it anywhere, but does anyone know the weight of the double layer 1.7 traveler? I'll probally get it with the line option, but intend on using my whoopie sling suspension. Do you think I'll be able to get it in time for Christmas?

Brandon can give you the weight and lead time for a DL 1.7 (I would think Christmas should be no problem)
I use whoopies on my 1.7 single and I'm really liking the combo.

Lori, I'd think another benefit to moving all night and napping during the day is that you don't need nearly as much insulation during the warmer daytime hangs. Is that true in the Sierras? I've often thought that would be an efficient way to hike. I've had great night hikes before, but never gone all the way till dawn.

    Thanks, Brandon, for the info!

vitamaltz, it probably will end up that I'll take a 1/4" evazote for insulation even in the daytime - but the temps can vary 30-40 degrees between day and night, and more if weather blows up. And since it varies and sometimes we end up waiting around for deployment, I may need the insulation for colder temps as well.

I do want to go up sometime and hike til midnight, camp, and get a jump on things - weekend warriors need to make the most of it.

Hey Thanks! I've learned a lot from you guys...who knew hanging a piece of fabric between two trees could get so in depth and have such a huge knowledge base. I've been lurking and learning and even sharing that info with some of my fellow backpackers at the Atlanta Wilderness Backpackers: http://backpackers.meetup.com/126/ I'm Polar Bear and help organize. Thanks again and hope to participate more here at the forum.

Thanks Brandon! I'll be looking forward to that info. I'm ready to order one based on testimonials I've read. Looks like what I've been looking for. Being a backpacker, I've got to know the weight before I blindly order.

Speaking of which, how does the ordering process work at the Warbonnet website work? I email what I want and then what happens, how do you take payment? Sorry if I seem confused. Hope you don't tell me "No hammock for you!"
