Did you see someone laying in the hammock?
I've always heard the saying, " I guess he/she fell out of the stupid tree and hit every branch on the way down.". I never knew the stupid tree actually existed.
“Light thinks it travels faster than anything but it is wrong. No matter how fast light travels, it finds the darkness has always got there first, and is waiting for it." -Terry Pratchett
My attention was drawn to the tree seeing the guy who put it up there scramble down. I waited a while to see if he was going to climb in, but he didn't. I wasn't about to ask him to climb in just for a photo. Particularly as I don't know how good he is with his knots!
My sister-in-law is an awful driver, with the added curse of living in an area with enchanted trees. Seems they leap in front of her car....
Grizz
Grumble.....Grumble.....(curses the enchanted trees under his breath)My sister-in-law is an awful driver, with the added curse of living in an area with enchanted trees. Seems they leap in front of her car....
LOL.
They're trying to keep loggers from cutting the trees down. They go up in old-growth forests in Oregon national forests as well as the redwoods. Loggers will not fall the tree if there's a neo-hippy protester up in it. They often build platforms way up in the tree and stay up there for weeks, even months. Maybe some of them use hammocks? There are people living in the trees!?!?!?!?
What are they protesting; dirt?
I think they're trying to protect the trees...they're probably hippies
A co-worker who served in the US Army in combat in Vietnam said they used to hang their hammocks way up in trees many feet up in the forest canopy. Presumably to hide from the VC and NVA. I'll have to ask him about the details.
