There is plenty of firewood in that part of the lake so we can make a BIG fire if we want to.

There is also a nice (smaller) lake some kilometres away where we could sleep one night. That lake is connected to the Gold River were Joz will teach us how to pick up gold to finance more gear.....
    Sounds great to me !

OK , then Arvidsjaur it is!

PS, Thanks for the great info!

We got a little wet today when we walked back to he car but otherwise we had really nice weather. Easy walking and nice surroundings in Muddus. A lot of really old trees, both dead and alive ones. At the cabin in Muddusloubbal there is a birdwatcherstower and the kids thought it was fun to get up and down to it. 3 times we went up during the trip and they enjoyed it.

Yes, they where out for 4 days both of them. We slept in cabins and walked 4-5 km per day so it wasn't so tough for them. I carried most of the gear and we had plenty of food and some toys with us. A frisbee was a nice thing to carry. We had plenty of fun with that one.

Muddus is a nice place to go to if you don't want to much adventure. Easy walking and VERY nice cabins. 150 SEK per night for adults, FREE for kids under 15 yrs. The cabins have all kitchen equipment needed, gas included. Plenty of firewood in the sheds. Water to drink closeby, toilets and so on. Very nice place indeed!

Sounds as a real nice option, my kids love the outdoors - but not the long hikes(and daddy dont like to haul all their gear)
Though they are beginning to like the more primitive trips(like sleeping under a tarp at the beach - watching stars and roasting Marshmellows by the fire)
Gotta get them into S.U.L hiking

My kids like hammocking so I've just ordered 2 more hammocks so we can have one each. Those hammocks will probably arrive tomorrow so then we can go hammocking together. Of course it will not be any long hikes because I have to carry most of the gear but hopefully we will make it to Laggträsket sometime during the summer. I will put up some pictures here on the Hammock Forum so you all can see the surroundings there. Maybe it will inspire some more people to join the septemberhanging.....

I have some really nice maps of the area which I will try to make a pdf out of. Someone interested of a pdf-map of the area?
