Hi: So I have kids and they saw all my old hiking stuff, from MANY moons ago, and want to go hiking. Well, I am getting a little old, but not too crusty yet, so I plan to oblige them. The problem is that I don't want to carry a heavy pack, so I was looking around on youtube, for light weight camping solutions. This fellow shugemergy's vids came up. He is a very talented and nice guy, and apparently way into light weight backpacking. He makes GREAT videos. He got me very excited about using a hammock and tarp instead of a tent. (The kids can stay in the tent and carry it, ha ha ha). Yesterday I ordered my first....a warbonnet blackbird (for fat guys) and a superfly tarp. I cant wait.
I really like this forum, everyone's spirit and willingness to help. My first trip with this rig will be the greyfox bluegrass festival in Oak Hill NY. If you are going, let me know, I'll buy you a beer at my camp site.
See ya!
