LLBean had one marked $30 in the store, though the catalog lists it at $40. It must have been last year's price, but they honored it.

Even this is not what I really wanted they will work for now
. The CS rep I talked to admitted that they had the measurements listed wrong and offered a full refund including shipping. If I deep them they will send a $10 coupon

just got mine: 8.5 X 8.5, no factory taped seams, doing an exchange, upgraded to the "16 X 16" for a $7 difference. I'll seal it myself!

    $10 off next order

keeping this one ordered 16x16 with free shipping and $10 off

    I think that is acceptable

I just hope the small one will cover my Eno Double for summer and the so called 16x16 for fall and winter

    (fingers crossed)

They say the seams are taped spoke to 2 cudtomer service reps that both informed me that if at anytime I want to return it I may

Should I seam seal or just test it

I am planning a section hike on the AT in May

I will have a few test hangs and gear tuning local jaunts so I hope for a (little Rain) on one of them for a real test

I find a hose at home does not always find the leaks it is only when being away from the car and cold that the leak shows up

I say just seam seal it then test it. Either way, you should still be able to return it even after sealing it IMO

Nothing to lose trying out the "taped" seams first.

Yes, they intended this one to be hung on the diagonal. That's why there are no center tie outs. Most of us added center tie outs to hang it in porch mode or pup tent mode.

Finally. That "oh, that's the DIAGONAL measurement" excuse was a thinly-veiled attempt to "CYA". I'm glad they just admitted, "Hey, we made a mistake. We'll make it right if we can. Otherwise, we'll give you your money back."

I didn't know that, thank you

As far as the "16ft'er" (nominal 12x12) not being large enough for your "12ft" hammock, I suspect you are forgetting that the hammock is probably closer to 10ft when hung.
Your suspicion is correct sir..... My thought process is poor when flustered.
