Not sure about anyone else, but I'm not going to make it, either. I got offered some rare overtime shifts for Friday and Saturday, so I took them up on it. I'm saving for a JRB Old Rag Mtn, so the OT will come in handy.

Well, I can't make Stone Mountain SP, but I'm planning to make it to the family campground at Hanging Rock State Park tomorrow night (Saturday 12/5) -- it's much closer to home.

It's supposed to rain, with a few inches of snow possible in the mountains, although I'm not sure where that line gets drawn up near Hanging Rock. I'm hoping to get an inch or so of snow, do some winter gear testing, etc. I have a few winter clothing ideas I'd like to experiment with in the cold rain/mud/sleet/snow. (Tyvek coveralls, for one thing -- not stylish by any means, but maybe functional).

Just a very quick overnight, then home for the holiday rush again. The family is supportive. They've given up on me being normal anymore anyway.

Hmmm ... sounds familiar ... maybe we need to form a support group!

WARNING: Will discuss Rhurbarb Strawberry Pie and Livermush at random.

I'd love to come, but I have been invited to chase bambi tomorrow, and I have a lot of sewing to do on Sunday in preparation for the following weekend at Turkey Pen Gap.

I thought about going to Uwharrie, but I don't own any blaze orange at all and it's deer season. Is a hiker fairly safe on the trail there? Or else what can I expect, Mac?
