I used your tutorial and spreadsheet (I keep a copy of the spreadsheet on my computer) and came out with an incredibly professional looking and perfectly sized stuff sack!

I never did say thanks... Thanks! Great tutorial and the spreadsheet is just what I was looking for.

How do you put the flat felled seam on the side? In my mind, I would think that the whole sack would have to bunch up near the presser foot just to get to the end...what is the trick?

It takes a little work to be sure you're not sewing it together. It would be very hard to do on a tiny sack but a "normal" sized sack isn't too bad. You do have to feed just the side of the sack thru that you're sewing and the other side has to stay behind....make sense? I think its pretty much how you're imagining it.

Maybe I'll throw up some pix later if you're interested.
    Good luck,

This sounds just like I was thinking, but when you do this, you have to use a round bottom on the sack right? (seperater round piece of material that you sew onto the "tube" that will become the stuff sack) If I am thinking about it correctly.

Pics are always a help, and they would probably help more people than just me.

Nope, once you get it sewn down the side you just sew across the bottom and pull the corners out etc. like a normal square bottom stuff sack.

Pix to follow, might take a bit.
    Good luck,

Awesome! I look forward to seeing your process. I have made many stuff sacks, and they work well, but I would like to use the flat felled seam. The part that I think I am having a hard time visualizing is how to make the corner from the side to the bottom using the flat felled seam.

    Thanks in advance!
