Anyone want to start a VA hang trip?

Title says it all, I'd like to meet some of the central VA people, there is a spot just north of the James river Footbridge that is an amazing hang location, 5 of 5 difficulty going straight up to it is the only downside. (I think we can come from the backside partially up a fire road but need to check).

I'm in for a VA hang that is more central and or north! I'd love to join in on the Grayson Fest or the Luray/Shenendoah kayak hang but distance and lack of kayak is making it hard for me to trek out there from waaaaay up yonder here in Northern Virginia by the Nation's capital.

I am in the exact same boat. If it wernt for the canoe thing then I could go to the Luray and the Grayson fest is just way to far away. If it was for multiple nights then maybe it would be worth the drive time. If we could get one in Shenendoah National Park or Jefferson Forest just south of Shenendoah then that would be good. I did the Three Ridges Hike awhile back and it was awesome. It would be great for a small group like around 10 people.

    Just tossing out idearrrs.

This is the area I was suggesting... It has a few flat spots that are honestly a bit small for tents so we would have it to ourselves. Was there about 2 months ago and it was awesome.

Where is that exactly? Coordinates by chance? I ride dirt bikes down at Pedlar Trails just off the BRP and that sure looks like the view from up there.

BTW, where are you in Central VA?

It's right around here: 37.633134,-79.390632 ish it's close to that, around 3-4mi climb north of footbridge, brutal climb and one section is kind of a scramble. It's epic, I'm in Lynchburg

Looks like a great hike and great place to camp. That's considered Jefferson Forest if I am correct and we wouldn't need permission or permits to camp if I am correct unlike Shenadoah. Last time I was there I was at the Three Ridges Trail Loop just alittle farther north along the AT.
