My second hammock setup was pretty inexpensive. I called HH and purchased a used Scout for around $69 ! That, and a Walmart blue foam pad, plus converting an old down sleeping bag to a quilt kept the price way down !

hey triggerhpy I was wondering what suspension you use with your eno. since this is the hammock i use and love it but am tired of waking up on the ground with the eno slap straps and am contemplating switching to poly pro straps and cinch buckles.

I know what you mean about but-on-the-ground. I have the slap-strap pros. This is what I've tryed. .1st keep the straps flat on the tree no twist. 2nd find the right adjustment loops. I find that my ENO needs to be on the tight side. Then get in to strech them out. Readjust as needed.
Tortoise never for a moment stopped, but went on with a slow but steady pace straight to the end of the course.

The suspension I use with my eno is:
I" tubular webbing bought at an outfitters for 30cents/foot, 30 feet, $9. Two decender rings tied to the hammock with cord ($5). I cut the webbing in half, sew loops in one end. The open end of one strap is used with the rings for adjustment and the other strap is tied to the tree with Ed Speers hammock knot. I took off the heavy biners that come with the eno and bought one good climbing biner ($7) for the end of the hammock without the rings to attach to the loop in the webbing.

Thanks lazyboy for the help I actually gave up trying to use the slap straps and spent the cash on cinch buckles and polyester webbing. it might be a little heavier but its not that big of a deal.

Thanks for this thread. I just found your site and have only started looking around. I have been to some of the big hammock sites, but can't justify spending the money for some of those hammocks. I saw several over $400. I bought a decent popup truck bed camper for $450 and it has heat, stove sink and refrigerator. I can justify $50 to $75 per family member.
If any of you ever decide to hang in Colorado, I can point you to some nice areas.
