That is actually ingenious. I am going to need to figure out a way to do that on my machine.

Thanks MAD, I don't know why I'm so driven to make things I really don't need, but I sure have fun doing it.
Thank you. I may try some "bionic" velcro to hold the metal strap to my other machine, might also try a laser more shaped like an ink pen and mount that on a "leg" from one of those small gorilla pods? But will def. use the bionic velcro to keep form doing anything too permanent to my machine.
Good luck,

Finally a thing that made sewing a hobby for real men!
I want one of those, please!!!!
I would also like to have a more manly sound in my thread injector, anyone who knows how to attach a V8 to a regular thread injector?
Like that laser a lot!

Sorry dudes, only in Swedish (so far).
I use a laser square (two laser lines going at right angles) when I'm marking long straight line cuts on fabric. There I get a laser line along the direction the beam is pointing. i.e., the laser square sits flat on the floot, I get a line on the fabric on the floor, but I don't get a line on the wall that laser is pointing at. Here your laser is pointing down, and you get a line in the plane orthogonal to the projection. I've not seen one of those gizmos before...
Anything easy you can do to help make straight seams is a good thing; this idea is a good thing.

Thanks Bieggolmai. Maybe you could hook your ipod to the foot pedal to play the beginning of the Beach Boys 409 song when you step on it.
Thanks Grizz, you must have read my mind. When I came up with this I said to myself.... "Self, how can I get a line in the plane orthogonal to the projection?"
Good luck,

Great idea! You could try a smaller retrofit laser guide like this one from Laserkerf for $79:

Surely, God could have made a better way to sleep.
Surely, God never did.
While the B&D laser is a bit large it was also only $15....so cheap beats small in this case. Thanks for the idea tho.
Yeah, funny I never used mine 'til it was mounted on the TI then all of a sudden there's a new curtain rod that needs hanging... wierd?
Maybe if I wire it into the 220v coming into the house, hmmmm....
Good luck,

If you use a cutting laser and CNC, you would have a mathematically perfect catenary cut!

Maybe we need a new thread about cutting? This thread was about thread injecting after all
