    What's the deal?

Sheesh, what the heck is the deal with the Clark Hammock yahoo group?

It seems like a bunch of uptight closed minded snots over there. All I did was say the Clark stock ropes stretch. Now I am getting all sorts of nasty private emails and junk as well as a few lame posts about self promoting and crap. I think I'll bounce out of that group.

    Ummm, I told you so.
Clark users are fiercely loyal. You should have seen some of the PMs I got when I knocked the Clark tarp.

I used to monitor that site while I was considering a clark hammock. They are loyal over there but it is a good way for clark to get feedback. Spencer monitors that forum, I dont believe he does this one.

If someone is trying to continually improve a product, it seems a bit short-sighted to ignore legitimate criticism. The vendors that do interact here on the forum are to be highly commended in that regard.

I am a member in that group, but I don't go there very often.

I like all hammocks, but I do love my Clark. But I wouldn't call me loyal. I can't spend enough nights in each of my different hammocks. I have to keep rotating. JRB BMBH was last week, maybe back to the Clark again this week.

    Speaking of Clark tarps, Cannibal...............

    Yeah, don't I wish I've had time.
FF sent me one of his extra Clark tarps so that I could familiarize myself with them since I didn't take the time when cavediver2 lent me his Clarks. Well, I had the time, just not the desire.

It looks really nice sitting on top of my tarp box.
I'll take it with me tomorrow. Driving thru the desert and camping in it leaves me with little doubt that I'll need a tarp to keep me dry.

sorry you're getting all the neg replys, sort of surprizing too because there are sooo many different kinds/types of hammocks and just because you buy one type, doesn't mean you have to like all the components of that hammock. I thought that was part of the "whole" hammock thing, that you could change "your" hammock to fit "YOU". And in changing your hammock you could be helping someone else too. So..... I was really optimistic when you posted that you are changing out the clark ropes & drip-rings, I was having visions of them being mailed my way!! Oh well... I am glad that you'll be using them on something else... but if you ever chang your mind....(hint-hint)

This is so very true. The vendors here take both praise and criticism to heart and learn a lot more.

I am writing this this morning as I lost internet connection last night around 11pm. This was a good thing as I was just getting ready to post a reply to this post. It has given me some time to think about how I was going to reply to this and my choice of words.

I do not wish to get into a war on here especially one about an other forum.
But it is evedent that Hacktrious feels the way he does and for that I am truly sorry.

I do not feel that the group is an uptight, close minded or even snots I do think that it was taken to far by one person and maybe the wrong words used by another that has happened on this site and many others I am not defending the actions of anyone.

It has and I hope will continue to grow and with that I hope people can learn from one and other and what is said weather good or bad from that group.

If I didn't value the thoughts of others I would have most certainly not let Cannibal borrow my Clarks everyone knows what his favorite hammocks.

I asked him to give and unbiased report of them and I thought he did. I am sorry that Hactrious and Cannibal are getting this kind of flack but I assure you will never here that from me.

so this uptight, close minded or even snot is going to read some more on HF
