    Grayson Highlands Customer,
Grayson Highlands State Park are currently experiencing a severe water shortage in the Hickory Ridge (main) Campground. As of Wednesday, August 1, there will be no hot water available in the Hickory Ridge Campground for showers or washing dishes. To help conserve water, we are requesting that RVs with reserve tanks fill them at the office. Water levels in the rest of the park are not affected. If you have questions, please call the park office at (276)579-7092.
Here is the info we received from the rangers a while back.
The water at the hydrants at the edge of camp is fine for drinking, etc.
I'll try to call for an up date on the camp ground water availability tomorrow.
I too will something make and joy in it's making

I usually bring my own water for drinking anyway but I have friends coming with wives who were asking about showers. I sure hope they'll be available.

Just talked to GHSP & was told we could disregard the earlier email about water shortage.
Showers, hot water, etc, good to go.

I'm all packed up, and will be there around noon tomorrow. Is there anyone still planning on being there prior to that?

If I happen to be the first one there, how would I find our hang site in the campground area?

I'm going to try to get there before noon if all goes well.
After passing the ranger station & the road on the right that goes to the picnic area (where the festival will be) you will see the campground road on the right.
As you enter the campground, park at the little store on the right. The group camp site is just behind & to the left of the store. We can fan out into the woods surrounding the group site to hang our hammocks or find hang spots in the group site, near the parking area.
