    Revelation vs Revelation X Quilts??

I am definately purchasing a quilt from Tim this week. My only question is between the standard Revelation or the Revelation X version??? I know the Revelation uses lighter softer nylon but is it worth the extra $$. I plan on getting a 0* overstuffed and plan on using it with and without a Bivy depending on weather. Any and all help would be appreciated.

Can't speak for the Revelation but I the X model. When I got mine last year this time, I believe the X version was made with factory 2nd material. I could not find any flaws in mine.

My only complaint is since I got it, the weather has not gotten down low enought to give it a good test. I think the cold is scared of it.
I am still 18 but with 52 years of experience !

Well I was having the same question but when it came down to it, I went with the X(or whichever one is cheaper). This choice was made based on the color options, gotta rock my orange, and because it was cheaper. For a few ounces and a more "buttery" feel, I felt like this wasn't worth the extra money to me. Loving my Rev X tho!

I have a 20F RevX that is great.

It says that the 15D is more water resistant, so if you camp in wet weather or subject to condensation, it would be a plus. I'm thinking of one Revelation 40F for the warmer season, because it says that the material is softer on the skin when I sleep just in my shorts.

I'm looking forward to test the 20F tomorrow night, as they announce just that temperature and dry.

I might just bite the bullet and get it with 10d and 15d for the softness and a bit more protection with moisture

So yesterday I took my setup to the garden. Weather channel announced temperatures down to 20F, optimal to test my overstuffed 20F RevelationX.

Overnight temperatures went down to 12F and I was nicely warm in my quilts. Slept well until 6am, then needed to get out I have the 6'6'' version and can cover my head. With that done I even took out the bataclava and just kept the wool-beanie.

So I can definitively confirm the *F ratings of the RevelationX.

For those that have the Rev or RevX, what widths do you have and does that work well for your needs. I am looking to pick up one soon from Tim and would love the advice.

Very nice! I've heard really great things about the Revelation quilts.

One thing to note - watch putting your head under the quilt for long periods of time when it gets that cold. The moisture in your breath can collect, making things clammy or even getting the down slightly damp, lessening its warming effect for the night. It sometimes seems counter-intuitive but it's definitely worth keep your mouth/nose outside when breathing.
