The week and a half waiting for my Superfly to ship wasn't that bad... This morning waiting for it to get delivered is killing me.

My wait is the time it takes to build up the money I need to buy a top quilt and underquilt. So I get to wait for the time I get place an order so I can then wait some more.

In the more immediate future I'm going to return my Osprey Atmos 65 backpack to REI and buy the ULA backpack which I should have purchased in the first place. So I have to wait until I have a gap in our carpool schedule so I can go to REI on the way home from work. Then I have to return it and get my credit card credited, then I have to order the ULA and wait for that.

So yeah, I feel your pain.

Then again, I have a job to go to, I have a car to drive to that job, I have a part time teaching job which is a way to make some extra cash to buy toys like top quilts and that's better than a lot of people have it these days. So while it's frustrating not to have my new backpacking gear I try to realize that I'm doing OK and be thankful for that.

I manage the wait by avoiding it. I order off our wonderful For Sale forums. I can handle a day or two much better than weeks :-)

Schedule a surgery for the day after you buy the item. Go camping in the item you are replacing to remind your self why you are buying said item. Order the item just before a week long business trip. Sell and ship other items to cover the cost of said item.

Generally just go insane with the waiting.

    Quick question on this:

I purchased a couple things from Warbonnet Outdoors. I'm in Australia and Its been almost two months and nothing has even shipped yet. Does it take this long usually? Brandon assured me its going to be shipped soon, but I have been amazed at how long its taken even just to leave the store. Anyone have a similar experience?

I'm in the same boat. Waiting for my set up from WB. Checking the email is like watching a clock. Think my Dutch Gear will be here first. I will be all Dutch geared up with nothing to hang in. Guess a little geocaching will keep me busy until its time to hang.

    Red,

That was hysterical! And, oddly enough, really did help. Ah, sweet Metallica!!

I just got a very informative email from Brandon explaining that this is his busiest time of year and being only a small company who do everything themselves things take time. But he assured me its definitely on its way. He's a really nice guy.

So, for me, its back to waiting. Now I shall go out and build my hiking calves in the city!

Currently waiting on my mamajamba, filled my time by buying whoopie slings, zing it, and a poncho liner... :-s
