Just found out it's possible for me to attend. I would be leaving Sat. morning and coming back Sun.
Anybody in the Philly area to the hang want to share a ride?

For those hangers coming in late, look for the bright orange plastic ribbon that will mark the entrance to the trail to hang site. I will be putting this out after my prehike on Friday afternoon.
There are 2 parking lots. One parking lot is near the bathroom building. The other parking lot is on the same side of the road as the pavilion (but may be full by the time you get there). This is the parking lot with the easiest trail to the hang area. The trail is near the parking lot entrance and will be marked with bright orange ribbon.
The trail map is here.

Orange ribbon will be along the trail and we will put a double ribbon around the tree on left where you will make a left and go up the hill to hang area. If you hit the AT shelter, then you have missed the left turn up hill. Back track.
It's only about a half mile in. Flat mostly until you make left at tree with double orange ribbon. Then short up.
PS: Bathrooms are open 24/7 at the park. Water pump outside of bathrooms. Small creek by AT shelter can be dry, so pack in some water.

Or if you wish to hike the AT in if you go to the pavilion and have it on your left, on your right you will see a old home-stead remains across the grass field, in the right corner of this you will see the post marking the AT. Follow the white blazes up the hill till you get to your first blue blaze on your right (there should be a sign that says Crampton Gap Shelter) follow this down and you will run right into the HF group site as we camp off the blue blaze (well everywhere in that section really)...

It's always best if your an early riser!
Was so hoping to make it to my first hang and actually 'hang' in a hammock. However work has me in training this week and i have to head to Virginia on Saturday.
Have fun guys and I promise I will make the next one.
When the wife asks, I simply say "Shug made me do it".
I see Joe from Zpacks is sending items for the raffle, he's not also attending is he? That would be pretty rad. And any word on Adam and Jenny?

I didn't want to say anything and jinx it but it looks like I'll be able to make it. The 5 month old is behaving and I think Jessi wants to get me out of her hair for a few days!
I haven't been in my hammock since March, FAR TOO LONG!

Also leaving this morning. Looks like we might be setting up in the rain, TZ, but after that nice weather for the rest of the weekend.
PS - I now carry a cell phone (a "present" from my wife).
Is there fresh water available, or should I be packing a filter? Are there bathrooms nearby?
