My forum name is Fish<><; I'm in the navy; and I hate sleeping on the ground. If I didn't need ground to walk on or measure resistance to, I think I could happily give it up.
One of the things I like about a seperate tarp is the ability to take down the hammock during a rain and still keep it dry. I then stuff the wet tarp into a seperate bag and store it on the outside of my pack.
Can this be acomplished with the Dirigible?
In my last trip vid (yes it's 13 minutes long), I think it was the part two of the Alaska trip, I show how the ends of the Dirigible clip/clamshell around the hammock...easy peasy and very fast IF you have to do that. I've been in quite a bit of rain now using the HNO Dirigible and only once did I separate the down and hammock and stuff them and also stuffed the sock separately--it was raining that hard---but that too was super easy to do. In the milder rains I've not fooled with it-everything is inside the sock.
Now complete truth in advertising here (not really advertising, I don't work for HNO {Hangnout or Leighlo, just love their stuff}, but in the Mendenhall area is was WET, super thick wet air besides the constant rain; and after a couple of days there was moisture inside the down even though it didn't get rained on. This is just one of the downsides of this insulation eh and that is why long distance hikers I"ve seen over the years are seen on warm sunny days sunning their down sleeping bags. Sun is also antibacterial
"The next one..."
Can't wait to see the next one but better yet the one I can buy.

Kerflop, I'm with you man. This morning I was in a kayak coaching a long distance swimmer who's getting ready for a triathlon...I had the heat on in the car driving to
the lake and it was 68F.
When it comes to keeping warm the sock reminds me of the PeaPod in that both are
warmer than they should be,,,,warmer than the sum of their parts I guess you could say, and I mean that for all socks not just the Dirigible but the Mac versions and I'm sure the ones just coming out from Warbonnet. I'd get a Warbonnet sock for winter use just because Warbonnet is such primo gear.....good name recognition too if you're a fashionista ---hoping Brandon reads this for a laugh!
Been a while since the last post. Just checking to see how things are goin boys.

Just got word. The HNO Graf will be on the C/O Towpath in a couple of weeks. That will be 4-5 nights getting to know it. Anticipated weight is 3ish ounces lighter than the Dirigible and 3 ounces gets a woohoo in my book.
Reminds me. People often talk about tarp weights but hardly ever do they also state or consider the weight of stakes and all the lines...just saying
The HNO Graf has arrived!
Just when you think something cannot get any better
We leave in 6 days for the C/O. I'll post up a vid of our trail experience
and the Graf's performance and ease of use when we return.
