    reflective cloth for hats?

Hey guys, just throwing a question out there-------is there a coating, or a type of cloth that reflects radiant heat-----kind of like what a space blanket does without the crinkling sound?
FYI: If you want to know what type a certain bear is, sneak up behind it and kick it. Then,
run like crazy and climb up a tree. If the bear climbs the tree and eats you, it's a black
bear. If the bear just pushes the tree over and eats you, it's a grizzly bear : )

Insul-bright or Insulfleece? Both are basically a mylar space blanket between some fabric so they should be quieter than just a space blanket.

Definitely check out columbias new fabric, I believe it's called omni thermal or omni heat. It works wonders for me in the beanie I bought from my local sporting goods. If you look hard enough online, there are a few places that sell it, if you're a diyer

Almost bought a Columbia Omni-Heat beanie yesterday... was concerned about breathability. Those of us who are bald, do not have a vapor barrier between our head and hat.

It actually wicks pretty well. I would not recommend though if you're huffing and puffing through a lot of rugged terrain. I tend to use mine for when I'm going to sleep.

Sounds great! Any idea where to buy this material?

Might check the local fabric store. Though I have not tried them for non-photo uses, they sell a number of shimmery, metallic, breathable fabrics that are sold for party dresses. Silvers, golds, etc. Be fashionable!
