    3 day/38 mile trip...all packed...32lbs all in...

I'm getting ready for an extended (for me) backcountry hiking trip in the ADKs next weekend with some friends...

My fully loaded pack is a hair under 32 pounds...I was hoping for closer to 25, but as it's snowing here this morning, and we'll be a long ways from roads or help, I'm erring on the side of caution a bit in packing clothes and gear and shelter and food and FAK...

I have more trips lined up for the rest of the spring and summer, and for those I hope to rock my GraniteGear Virga, rather than my heavier MountainSmith pack...the Ms pack is a bit more comfy and supportive for the weight and distance I'll be doing on this trip...

In warmer weather, and less into the wilderness, I'd like to get under 20 pounds all in, but we'll see...

For this trip, I'll be sleeping in my ENO single, with a HH tiny tarp overhead...short z-rest pad, and MSS green bag...

Is that food, water et al?
Are you going to post a gear list of this trip ........?
Unless your gear is older and heavier you should be able to knock some pounds off of that load.
Either way .... you will be out having a blast!!!!!!!!

Not a bad weight, especially with extra winter gear...enjoy your trip!

Well that looks good. Your right ... still shoulder season so err on the side of caution.

I don't see a camera in that list. You know we're going to expect pictures.
Planning to use your phone maybe?

You're right, I didn't count the camera...I'll likely take 2.38 gazillion pictures since I've never done this trip before...

My Canon PowerShot D10 and battery and card only weigh a couple of ounces, and have space for about 4,000 pictures, and it's waterproof!

Can you do me a favor and throw that camera on a scale and let me know the exact weight. It may be just what I am looking for if it isnt too heavy!

Yes, I sleep in a hammock. Please pass the Grey Poupon.

Canon describes it as weighing 190g...that's much more precise than my scale...it's a great camera!
