Just threw a couple more dates up there
sorry my April is crazy other than the weekend that is obviously Easter weekend

If March date is chosen - agreed Springer area can prob get crowded.
Any suggestions close to that area?

or a friend went to Keown Falls - Anyone know anything about that area?

Met77 - Cohutta? Any areas where we might be able to set up and avoid crossing rivers?. some can do easy trails if wanted or others can do rivers crossings.

I am not much of a hiker but I may join in depending on date. Cohutta is nice.

Springer will no doubt be crowded through the end of April. But you could do Stover Creek or Black Gap depending on which way of Springer we wanted to go. Stover Creek side is an easier hike, although a little bit longer, but the water source is better too.
It would be hard to avoid river crossings on the Jacks or Conasauga trails in the Cohutta, but would be good for a mid/late summer hike.

Sounds like a good idea. What about NW GA. It shouldn't be as crowded as being around the AT.

YES! Stay away from anywhere on the AT in the spring. There can be upwards of 40 tents at Springer and a full shelter every night...

I'm going to throw out 2 locations & a suggestion

I'll revisit Keown Falls For the March date
    http://www.georgiatrails.com/gt/Keown_Falls_Trail
A friend was there this past may. I saw some pics. Camping spot looked nice + pics of falls & trail. I can ask where he camped for the night. Anyone ever hike this area or camp?

    For the May date...
Cohutta. Anyone ever go to Beech bottom trail? Again would need to know a camp site?

Once we decide on a area - I am willing to drive with someone to scout out a spot(s)

Unless someone else can chime in on a location where we can get a good place to camp & some nice hiking for those who want to hike???

Panthers creek sounds good too. thekalimist - do you know of a few good spots to pick for a camp at panthers creek? easily accessed maybe for those who do not want to hike too far?
