    That's a great idea !

It's so great, it has already been done

    Packrafting in the Swedish Archipelago

So, i am not sure if two of our hangers want to repeat last years event *HINT*

Besides, i am slowly learning to avoid open waters in the Alpacka
I want to flow with some nice river and just watch the scenery passing by
    without any paddle strokes

We didn't have any mosquito problem, we had a tick problem

If i remember correctly, we did not have any problems at all
with mosquitos when i was hangning in stockholms archipelago
last summer so that might be a suggestion?

Should atleast cut down on some domestic travel costs for
our fellow hangers from other countries ^^

So yeah, something to consider atleast.

No experience with it, so I'm just throwing it out there:

    Klarälven

Pros: up to 116 km without whitewater or power plants. Very clear clean water, nice sand, salmon for fishing.
Cons: seems to be farmland right next to the river all the way. Of course, we might find shelters all along the way, I haven't done any proper research. But if we want wild forest we might have to carry our stuff a couple of hundred meters. Also, transportation, we will NOT end up at the starting point this time. :-D

Sounds nice and looks even nicer !

But i think 116km is from where they start, i think we could start WAY further up

And then we have the transport problem ,
but we solve any problems thrown in our way , right ?

116 km is a lot of distance, even if it is a river. I say it's better to take it easy and enjoy it, rather than going for the world speed record. We're looking at paddling for 5-6 days, right?

If we go upstream there will probably be whitewater and power plants, and also, if we want our french buddy to join we shouldn't go too far away from Vänern.

Idea for transportation: how about renting minivans in Stockholm? At least 4 people (Moski, yanks, Hank) will start there, maybe more if we get some danish folk (hint friggin hint!). I can probably join that group. Unless AW kills us all, maybe Moskis house could be basecamp.

Yeah , i guess you are right !
And i am not even sure if it will be 5-6 days ?
My guess is 5-6 days with the car transports, but that is a personal guess !

I think CENSUR only got 14 days over here in total.
And i guess he wants see more then Värmland on this first/last visit to EU Land

I think renting Mini Vans is prob a good idea, or maybe even the only way

If I´m able to be there I will probably come by car. I think.
Since I live far away from any airport driving will probably be the best option for me anyway even though it will be a long cartrip. But that of course depends on what destination is chosen. I´ll watch where this thread is heading.....

Hey ! I could be there and hang with you : I just received my DD Frontline !
OK, okay.... This is just the first step !

Not try it yet, because of the tempest Joachim is crossing over France. I thought I would be able to hang the hammock at home, but I couldn't imagine how much the tension forces could be that much important...
I have to hang the hammock in the garden : it will be more secure and won't break nothing at home !

Back to the SKAHO Summer session : I could easily go anywhere, not only around the Vänern and the region of Värmland. I just need to check for the bus and train network before, and see how to reach the location.
If the first rendez-vous take place in a "big" city (10 000 inhabitants and more), it won't be no problem (I guess so...)

That's good, because apparently the SKAHO is being relocated to the Stockholm archipelago. More info to come, I suppose. *looks eagerly at Moski*
