"The best sleep I've ever had in my life"
I don't have a bed in my bedroom. I have a Brazilian hammock. I also have a set of light block curtains that know how to do their job, and my computer w/ a decent set of speakers.
I had someone over at my house recently who needed a nap, and I set them up in my room. Closed the curtains, set them up in my hammock, and turned on Napsounds for them.
Later, they proclaimed that it was the best sleep they'd had in their whole life.

A Brazilian and some nice ambient music is a great recipe for sleep. However, I could never tolerate voice guided relaxation like they have at Napsounds.com. Glad it worked for your friend though.

The Jewel was my mother's first home hammock. Very nice hammock! I bought one after taking a nap in my mom's.
Love that you are putting up guests in hammocks. A+ for you! We have one bed in our house and it is a new addition. Girlfriend's son moved back out with us and he brought a bed. My feelings are still hurt that there is one in my house. But, guests are still given the choice of a hammock or the couch. The couch gets pretty lonely at times.

There are several different ways to hang a hammock indoors.
A Stand: Probably the easiest and most convinent for most. Other than building, or buying, the stand there just isn't much to it. Many tend to be less stable than desired. Plenty strong enough and stable enough, but some don't like the minimal movement of a stand.
The other methods all involve some type of attachment to the structure.
Connecting directly to the studs in the wall is one method, but probably the weakest link in the chain. You are tying into a fairly weak point of the structure and doing so in mid-span of the stud. I started this way and it worked, but it made me nervous enough to build a stand
Connecting to ceiling rafters; this one is probably my favorite. Much easier in a basement when the floor joists are exposed, but not all that difficult to do when they aren't exposed. A hole saw and a stud-finder come in handy!
Then there is what we use in our small rooms. I take chain and attach it to the ceiling, then attach the other end to the floor. It basically simulates a tree hang, in that you have the entire vertical length to work with and can hang your hammock appropriately regardless of the size. I can hang a Mayan as easily as a Nano with this manner of indoor hanging.
Use that search feature and you'll find many discussions of indoor hanging methods. In the end, choose the method that works best for your situation.
