    No Knot Loop

I have been reading a lot about the whoopie slings and constrictor lines and was wondering if there was a way to use these techniques to make a loop with no knots. The idea would be good for making prusik loops that did not have a knot in the line. I am sure this has come up before, but does anyone know how to make such a thing.

    Thanks,
    Chris

It's called a continuous loop. Basically, it's just a short length of rope with the ends in a locked brummel and then the tails are buried. Opie shows one in this thread:

    Tinker,
Thanks for the info. Now I need to resarch how the thing is made. Not sure how to do the brummel that locks it in.

    Edit:
Thanks for link on how it's made.

Yep, check the link I added in the edit. I should have just posted that in the first place, but I didn't find it right away.

Just for technicality's sake, the continuous loop connection is not a locked brummel, it only resembles one.
Not trying to be the grammar nazi, just figured I'd point that out.

It's better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it.

Was the end result the size you were expecting when you started?

By simply changing one step slightly, it can be made a locked Brummel.

Or for maximum strength efficiency, avoid pass through altogether; simply bury and taper each end, and use a lock stitch.
