I didn't know they were "newer", but yeah. They're a bit heavier, though, but they seemed to work on my Hennessy. Back when I was still sleeping in the Hennessy...

Yeah, Pete, I think yours are Omega Pacifics, too. They're what EMS carries these days. SMC has more of a west-coast foothold, which makes sense given that it stands for Seattle Manufacturing Corporation.

Incidentally, the SMC rings are 11 grams and are rated for 14 kN of force. Omega Pacific rings are 34 grams and are rated for 20 kN. So if you're not planning to (a) bounce a lot in your hammock or (b) have 13+ other guys my size join you in your hammock, the SMC ones are probably fine.

But they aren't available locally in northern NY, which means Pete and I are stuck carrying those extra 94 grams for our suspensions.

    Uk Rap Rings

I know this is an old thread but have been having trouble myself with finding rap rings in the Uk too. Managed to find some, after hours of trawling the net. They are probably a bit beefy and weigh to much, but being a noob i ordered a couple anyways, i was just thrilled that I actually found some. http://www.needlesports.com/Catalogu...ng-OME-RAPRING
