    I have been meaning to ask you if that had to do with Chess? If so, we really need to play.

    Yeah, it's a chess thing. I haven't played seriously in years, but I'd be up for a game at TD if you want

    ok as long as we are talking names....my full name as it appears on the birth certifcate is ....michael carlton beyonka loosa thomas..
    michael= death angel
    carlton= bringing balance
    thomas= justice
    beyonka loosa= a giant black demon of the cherokee"s hell
    (this giant black raven seeks out the most evil and wicked..he then eats them so they can never be redeemed nor get to heaven)
    so both my white and cherokee name mean the same thing
    "death brings justice"
    in the native american circles i travel ..they shorten beyonka loosa to blackie for short...so in this and many other forums i am simply blackie

    Wow. That's cool.

    My user id explained?

    My name's Patrick and I live in North Carolina. Nothing metaphysical about it, except maybe on some other level than I normally operate on. <shrug>

    I picked up my nickname years ago when I was in the Marines. We were on a Med cruise on the USS Saipan (LHA-2) and having some unusual downtime during the day, so we were watching a Tom Hanks movie (Turner & Hooch), having a snack and playing cards. Our leisure time was interrupted by a call to General Quarters, a drill, thank goodness. As we left our berthing area, I stuffed a cookie into my mouth and took a quick drink of Coke, which fizzed up and drippled out of my mouth in a rather disgusting foam. One of my teammates said, "D@#^, man you look like that dog Hooch in the movie!". The name stuck. For some reason, that teammate and I are still the best of friends, even the godfathers of each other's sons. The name has been with me since. It's ok, though, he asked me to give him a trail name for our section hike on the AT in June. Hence, a legend is born: Short Bus!

    Any suspicion that it'll just steam off when it hits him?
