I just ordered another TQ and UQ from Adam

TQ - M50 outer, 7d inner. 7d is ment to be better against the skin. Adam didn't like the 8d, said it wasn't downproof enough. M50 outer for a better wind resistance.

UQ - M50 inner and outer for wind protection.

Should be sweet. HG is supplying the fabric.
Nice weight savings in a set of lighter shelled quilts. That and I really like the M50 blue colour......

Does anyone have pictures of the different colors of the M50? I heard that the blue is a lot lighter then the picture on thru-hiker depicts. I would really love it if you had pictures of the steel grey, coyote brown and evergreen.

I was thinking a steel grey and evergreen Burrow and Phoenix would be look pretty good but i'd kinda like to see the colors before i just go ahead and buy it

There is the blue, evergreen and steel gray.

I just made a Top Quilt out of the black and gray and it looks awesome!

    Thank's Fronkey!

That evergreen is really good looking! And I love they grey! Do you have any pic's of your new TQ? I'd love to see how it turned out.

I am really surprised how different the blue is from the pic on thru hiker... I actually really like the blue on the site but the actual color not so much...

Look at 8D as a option to, alittle cheaper price on the 8D over the 7D,

Just a warning about the 8D, I was thinking of using it for my quilts I plan on ordering from Hammock Gear but Adam warned me that the grey color was too breathable and actually leaked a some down. Exactly what he said is below.

"I HAVE heard of the 8D fabric that tigoat sells. It is actually a 10denier material (they have some updated information on their site about that). I have worked with the green and the gray and the green, although a little loud for my taste, is usable. I was really sad to find out that the gray 10d was just too breathable...to the point that it actually leaked goose down a bit. I would not recommend it for a quilt fabric. The good news is that they are expecting a shipment of black 10denier material that will have a bit more dwr coating to it. It will weigh in at about .7oz/sqyd. I am not sure what the price point is going to be yet but I have been told that it will be competitive...which is a good thing."

I was really sad to find this out because I was hoping to do a black and grey 8D TQ & UQ.

Yeah, I'll take some photos when I get home in a couple hours. The gray and black look really awesome together. I'll weigh it too.

Rip, which of the three would be better as an overcover, i.e. Dangerbird? Or undercover?

I'll bet it was "soft and buttery", too.

Now there are some who like to feel it all, even alone, and they consume it. But for me? When the thinest washable, removable, cover for the top 12 inches of my quilts and bag is devised, one you barely know is there, I'm buying, because I'm down on grime -- and some fabrics are more resistant to it than others -- and I smell too well.

Advice for any fabric for a top quilt? Tell the maker you want drape, whatever he/ she does, the mix of fill, baffle height, and fabric such that it naturally falls about your body. A tailor knows, and so should a quilt maker.

Thanks for all the great advice and thanks for the pics Fronkey. I'm going to give Adam a call when he gets back to see what material he's got in stock. Nailing down the colour choice is getting difficult, it'll probably be black and either green or coyote. Has anyone got a picture of a coyote M50 quilt?

    Thanks
