Get to Yates Place early if you want a particular spot. I was there Saturday and it was absolutely full. Multiple Boy Scout vehicles (bus & vans) and tents setup around the area. There were tents well into the woods along Yates Place Road.

    Hey guys,

I'm relatively new to the forum. (First post!) Just started hanging this summer, and can already say I never plan on going back to a tent. So far I just have an ENO Double Nest, straps, and 2 cheap heavy tarps. No UQ yet, but I'm sure I could find a way to keep warm with a sleeping bag or two.

I had made other plans for next weekend, but just came across this post and it sounds like it could be a lot of fun. If I can clear my schedule I would like to join you guys if you will have me. Maybe w/ a +1. I will let you know definitively as soon as I am sure I can make it.

Good advice CJK! Hopefully someone will arrive before the crowds; claim a campsite and pitch a large tarp so we can have a Group-fire ring /gathering area, etc.... Course, since it's a National Forest we can just spread out into the woods and that's the beauty of hammocks - no tent sites needed

Welcome to all of you new folks! I'm looking forward to meeting each one of ya!

    Loki,

Good idea about a big tarp. I used to have one but loaned it to a neighbor long ago. I'll see if they still have it and get it back. Also I see your note about blaze orange. Is hunting allowed there?
