    Thanks!
I keep it in place on the DN when I stuff it into my Bishop bag. Good and ready.

I finally cut off the stuff sack. Now I'm looking into an easy way to keep it off the ground without sewing and over engineering.

Can anybody tell me if you can treat an ENO single nest with some kind of bug repellent as well as using the Guardian bug net?

I use permethrin ( http://www.amazon.com/Sawyer-Premium.../dp/B007VCRX2S ) on my hammock, bugnet, tarp, and tarp lines (and my boots and clothing). The stuff is amazing, safe once dried, and lasts several outings.

Glad to read that...I was not sure if I was the only one or if I was getting any benefit from treating my tarp and hammock suspension with Permethrin. I was just hoping to keep spiders and ants from coming across the lines.

Thanks for the info. I just had my very first attempt to sleeping in my ENO, and the chiggers and mosquito s ate me alive. I know I am going to get a Guardian Bug net but I am glad you told me about the permethrin.

I thought I read in some post a while back about permethrin being deadly to cats. Anyone else remember this?... If it is, make sure you keep your hammock away from your cats.

Seems to me the cat claws would be more harmfully to the hammock.

After it is dry it should not pose a problem

Yes typically here in the south if you sit on the ground (and that even counts if you're on a pad) through July-Aug or so you can get chiggers. But if I'm in tall weeds and especially when I pick wild blackberries they'll get me every time! I haven't even thought of wearing permithrin treated clothes when blackberry picking!

The thing about the cats... Keep them away until it's dried. Better safe than sorry.

Hey Cakes, went on a canoe trip in Missouri for a week in late May. 12 guys I went to college with, our 35th annual trip. I had clothing and shoes treated with Permethrin, they all had multiple ticks during and after the trip. Some of the bites were inflamed and serious. I did not find a single tick on me. I am sold on Permethrin on clothing. I garden organically and don't use any pesticides at home, but I will take my chances with permethrin over ticks any day.

I use it on my hammock as well, with a bug net. Michigan skeeters are relentless.
